Enjoy your stay in our unique cabin near Priest Lake Marina in Kalispell Bay at Priest Lake! It was built in 1985 by former Spokane resident, Tom McDonough, his wife and daughters, brother and brothers in law, nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Each log still holds the love of this cabin that went into the building of it. When it came time to name the cabin, Tom suggested many names befitting an Irishman’s abode. Exhausted of ideas acceptable to his daughters, he lightheartedly tossed out the name of his favorite Irish whiskey, Tullamore Dew. The girls knew nothing of the origin of the name but liked the sound of it. So Tullamore Dew it is!
Tom was a former chef and private club manager, and the kitchen still has many utensils used through the years to prepare memorable meals for friends, family, and high bidders on the gourmet dinners offered at the Gonzaga Prep Auction, the Priest Lake People Helping People Auction, and the Lions Roar Auction. We know you will not only treat the kitchen equipment as your own, but enjoy cooking with the tools of a fine chef. We were blessed to find the kitchen cabinets from an old parsonage in Portage Wisconsin – exactly the right sizes to fit our cabin..
Some of our favorite things to do at the cabin...hunting for morels in May, huckleberries in August, Granite Falls and the Roosevelt Grove, Huff Lake, walking the path alongside the lake, climbing to the fire lookout, climbing up the Lookout Mountain Trail with the most amazing view of the lake ever, spend time at The Entree Gallery in Nordman, visit the Priest Lake Museum on Lakeshore Road just north of Luby Bay Road, movies on Monday nights at Hill's, laying on the beach at night looking at the stars, getting a year pass so you can park at Luby Bay day time and use the beach, etc... Stop by the Forest Ranger office about mile post 32 (across from the air strip) on Hwy 57 for brochures. For more information about the Lake, check out As The Lake Churns at www.priestlaker.com, and the Priest Lake Chamber of Commerce at www.priestlake.org. And the Priest Lake Marina with a public beach is just a couple blocks away.
