Lesley Stauffer Caveness' post on Priest Lake, Idaho group on Facebook
December 31, 2019
Winter on Priest Lk. meant my dad (Art Stauffer) ad other men would go out on the lake in the winter, and cut big blocks of ice and take them down to Hills Resort where they stored them in what they called the " ice House". There was a big building full of sawdust and they buried the blocks in sawdust. Then, in the summer when we stayed at our cabin ( Luby Bay) , we'd go down in the boat and get block of ice for our ice box. It was our refrigerator and it worked great!!
Couldn't drive right up to the cabin then, we had to snowshoe in.
