GROOMERS UPDATE / NOV 2024
Priest Lake Groomers Association Snowmobiles Group Advisory Board update.
NEW SNOMOBILE PARKING AREA NORTH OF LIONHEAD
November 2024
A Big Hello to our Priest Lake Snowmobile Community.
As we approach our 24-25 snowmobile season, I wish to update everyone on the activities of the Priest Lake Groomers Advisory Board.
We share the same optimism with you in that we are going to have a great snow season with great groomed trails throughout the Priest Lake trail system. Based on recent weather reports, we are predicted to have cooler and wetter weather.
Our board has been exceptionally busy this off-season. We are very pleased to announce the completion of the new snowmobile parking area north of Lion Head on the Northeast side of Priest Lake. We have been planning for this project for more than five years. Great appreciation and thanks go to Idaho Parks and Recreation and the local Idaho Department of Lands for their work in getting the parking area constructed. Additionally, we a making the final touches on the Nordman Groomer Building expansion. This expansion will provide added efficiency to our Groomer Operations.
Additional Board Activities include doing maintenance on our Tucker Groomers (Nordman and Coolin) to ensure they are fully capable of grooming the 400 miles of our trail system and also restocking of cedar firewood at Mollies and Camels Prairie Warming Huts.
These activities could not be accomplished without the dedication and work of our 10 member Groomer Board.
The funding of our Groomer Program comes solely from the purchase of your Idaho Snowmobile Registration. In order for the Groomer Program to receive our share of these funds it is critical that you select 9A as your riding area. Sales this past year were down 30% due to the weather, so we are hoping sales will jump back up this year.
If you would like to learn more about the grooming program, snowmobile registration link, and grooming schedule you can find us at priestlakegroomers.org. You can also contact us through the website if you have any questions or comments.
Happy Trails to you.
