2021 PRIEST LAKE SPRING FESTIVAL

Priest Lake Friends,

This year’s Priest Lake Spring Festival is planned for May 29th and 30th. Following last year’s cancellation our organizing committee is putting together a slimmed down event that retains the two-day craft fair, noontime Saturday parade, and Sunday morning run events (5K and 10K). Those events that force both volunteers and participants to mingle in close proximity due to the nature of the activity will not be held. Specifically, you won’t see the bake sale and hot dog/brat sale normally hosted at the Coolin Community Hall, nor the Lions Club Kids Carnival.

Our reasoning behind these decisions is to allow you, our supporters, participants, and volunteers to decide whether to attend or not. And if a decision to attend is made you’ll retain some degree of autonomy/self-determination regarding precautions and safeguards in light of a lingering pandemic and simultaneous vaccination progress. You can spread out along the parade route and browse through the craft fair at an off-peak time (Sunday is a great day for shopping). For the Sunday morning run events Priest Lake Multisports has COVID policies in place that include modifications meeting Panhandle Health District and other public health requirements.

In the end, attendance is at your own risk, no different than how you live the rest of your lives. And should we need to cancel at the last minute due to the sky falling, that option remains. With two months and counting to go we’re optimistic that this year’s festival can be conducted just as safely as previous festivals - all 42 of them!

Whatever your level of participation in Priest Lake’s Summer Kickoff, we appreciate your support of the Coolin Civic Organization.

Be safe at the Lake,

Bryan Riegel
