OUTLET CYANOBACTERIA ADVISORY LIFTED
IDAHO DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY
September 10, 2021. The health advisory for Priest Lake Outlet, from Outlet Bay Road (48.4934, -116.8907) to the dam, has been lifted. The health advisory for Chuck Slough remains in effect.
Our staff monitored the cyanobacteria and associated toxins at the outlet and confirmed that cyanobacteria levels have returned to normal and toxin levels are below the safety threshold.
We continue to urge caution when recreating in and around water, especially during the hot summer months. HABs and toxin concentrations can change by the hour and water bodies can have toxins even without a visible bloom. When in doubt, stay out!
